Voice of a Managing Director - My Journey so far with Stevie Kidd…..

 I initially became aware of Stevie Kidd in 2014 through Linked-in, Stevie had posted an innovative  blog about the work he had done with a young man called Mark Mckirdy which got my attention, Mark is a young man with a learning disability whom Stevie had been coaching. I started to regularly see posts from Stevie, and I was instantly drawn to him as I could see he was a business leader and entrepreneur but he appeared to be very innovative and I knew right at this point, I want to meet this guy……. It was as if his words really connected with me on another level, it was evident from the start this guys “Unique” and I want to work with him, but have to introduce Stevie to other board directors..

I sent Stevie an email and he emailed me right back, followed up by a phone call, we ended that call agreeing that when Stevie was next in the Midlands area he would give me a call…..

Sometime later he did just that, following from an appointment in Manchester he travelled down to the Midlands on a very snowy, windy evening. (I have come to realise nothing stops Stevie Kidd J)

From my perspective that evening was the start of something immensely powerful, We were 3 years into our business and had been recognised as a leading small business, I had been selected and had completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small businesses programme and had won the Venus Midlands Entrepreneur Award  2015 and yet….. Myself and my fellow directors were not aligned in our vision, we had stopped communicating effectively and as our business grew the infrastructure was struggling…. Personally I was exhausted and the cracks were showing. I now had found someone who installed hope into me, so was eager to pull a meeting together..

The energy in the restaurant at our first meeting was electric, my business partner is naturally cautious about business coaching/ Consultancy, but before my eyes I watched Stevie engage with him and even that initial transformation was magic to watch, my business partner had an instant connection with Stevie. We left the meeting agreeing that Stevie would come into our business and complete a three day health check.

He did exactly that and our journey began……

Those initial days that Stevie spent in our business totally changed my perceptions, I suddenly started to have clarity, the fog cleared and I began to see clearly the strengths and weaknesses both in myself and my business. The world suddenly became a different place, I could see, hear, feel, taste, sense things at an already new level. The health check identified that communication was an issue, the Directors of the business were not communicating effectively with no proper structure in measuring the business and we were not aligned on strategy and this was impacting on the delivery of our services.

The starting point was an open and frank discussion at a Board level, we spend four hours stripping back our communication and roles and responsibilities. Boy what a day that was……….it was like being on a roller-coaster, emotions flew around the room as Stevie facilitated, we all unleashed our inner thoughts, stripped back misconceptions and really started to communicate with each other.

Following this, suddenly the business came alive again, we spent two days defining strategy and key performance indicators for the business and the board agreed to engage Stevie as a non-exec to lead and coach the board and key individuals within the business and boy have we left the blocks..

Stevie has been working alongside us for just three months and yet the development has been immense, he has aligned each of us to key tasks being specifically accountable and measured, supporting us to define and focus on our individual roles and responsibilities. We have a completely restructured our management team, set key performance indicators across each area of the business and measure at every level. 

So what does mastering our business look like today partnering with Stevie Kidd? In a short period of time we are now starting to really see the investment we have made,

We....

1) Know our PEOPLE and have the right people in our business as we have restructured in last 2 months

2) We are starting to Know where we REALLY ARE and Create and effective Business Map for our business and ourselves.

3) We are Constantly looking for STRATEGIC INNOVATION in all our products, Services and Delivery services.

4) We have Constant ANTICIPATION of changes to our sector.

5) We are starting to  have a Constant CREATIVITY of our people and culture 

6) We are understanding different ways in how to grow the business and we understand we have to Constantly strive to Create RAVING FANS and CULTURE for our business and ourselves as leaders. We lead by example and set new standards

7) We are implementing and consistently looking at our SALES MASTERY SYSTEMS 

8) Most importantly for me is we now are supremely communicating across our business and have Constant SUPREME EVALUATION at all levels within our Business.

Amazing progress in 3 months, You have to experience Stevie Kidd it to believe it..... he is intelligent and fast paced...

On a personal level for me the journey has begun,  I have a vision of the person I want to be, a vision for my family and my business and each day that I work with Stevie that vision is growing, Stevie has already taught me to strip away some of those negative thoughts we have which stop us from thinking REALLY BIG I’m getting clarity on what I want from my life, I am working alongside Stevie to support my personal growth, I am exploring external opportunities to expand myself and the impact of my thoughts, feelings and behaviour on my success. Every time I speak to, see or engage with Stevie I have a sense of connection, I am more aware physically, emotionally, psychologically, kinaesthetically.

What can I say, Stevie is a larger than life guy bald with a broad Scottish accent, he has eyes which speak to you beyond words and a laugh which reaches into your soul. Stevie is like NO-ONE I have ever met, he is a one off, the real deal, a true entrepreneur with a unique alignment with human behaviour and an ability to connect with people. I watch him in situation as he engages with the receptionist at the hotel, the girl behind the counter at the coffee shop, the waitress in the restaurant, service users, support workers, team leaders and managers across our business. He believes with every fibre of his being in people and it is his DNA to support and guide others to be the best they can be. 

You engage with this man be prepared for your business and your life to change forever. You will get the life you want guaranteed.
