A Personal Growth strategy I have, is that each year I look to really test myself beyond my limits, Few Years ago I thought I had really reached a peak in testing myself, when I personally created and delivered a 3 day personal discovery Leadership event in Windsor castle for 29 business leaders. No words describe how that made me feel in pursuing and embarking on such a goal. Its where "Fear" becomes the motivator. This year I found a challenge and a cause that simply makes my heart skip a beat when I think of both........................... in fact I would go as far to say it makes me emotional just thinking about it.
The charity is called " Finding your feet"
The Challenge is " The Great wall of China Marathon" ( reported to be 3rd hardest in the world)
We have a challenge , I have never ran a marathon, and do not particularly like running........... LOL
Folks can you help me please ? I am raising funds for the charity " Finding your feet" - The Just Giving page - no matter how much you can give, it will go a massive way...
It would be massive if we were able to raise £1000 for this amazing charity...
Life-changing trauma is probably
the most horrific thing that can happen to someone – not just for the
individual, but for their family, friends and carers for
whom the impact is often just as devastating.
What's even more difficult about
life-changing trauma is how tough it is to overcome — physically,
emotionally and, often, practically so that life may go on with
some semblance of normality. The good news is that studies show you can be left
feeling stronger and more positive following life-changing trauma due
to the way you handle it.
HOW WE
HELP
Life-changing trauma can
take many forms, including injury, amputation, paralysis
or unexpected illness. Whatever your life-changing event, it can
be tough to get your head around and to accept that life can, and will, continue,
albeit perhaps not in quite the same way as before. That’s where we come
in.
We aim to restore an
individual’s lust for life following trauma using
our well established support network, financial
and emotional assistance.
We can work with people to
help re-build their life, and to ‘find your feet’
in their new situation. We will assist them with setting,
and ultimately achieving, challenging but realistic goals. We aim to
provide direction, to point out new doors opening and help embrace the opportunities
that lie through them despite the change in
circumstances. We will help find the positive mental attitude
needed to be all they can be and to boldly go where they never
thought they could or would following life-changing trauma, whether that
be through physical therapy, emotional support, guidance, rehabilitation
or financial assistance.
My personal strategy in life has always been to help people, This is an opportunity for me to push myself beyond my limits and lucky enough to have a coach supporting me as well as my fellow friends who are true athletes in endurance events. It also gives me an opportunity to raise some funds for a charity and story that touched me deeply.Any support you can give would be appreciated. Regular updates on the training will be posted on
Thank you in advance for all your support.
